Some of you might be wondering, what’s a boat doing in this space? For quite some time now, Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing have been working together and what you see here isn’t the first, second or third but the 12th special edition boat; and what better place is there to unveil their newest collaboration than the Miami International Boat Show.
The boat in question is called a Cigarette Racing Team 59’ Tirranna AMG Edition, and the people who make it says it sets the standard in balancing luxury and sheer power. The boat is powered by six supercharged 4.6-litre 450R V8 outboard engines from Mercury Racing. Each engine produces 335kW of propshaft power. Together, these six insane marine engines make 2,013kW and are fed with 95 RON fuel from a 3,800-litre tank.
This insane power propels the 14,061kg, 59-foot-long, AMG-branded luxury sport boat to a top speed of 128km/h. Yes, it may weigh over 14-tons but lightness was a key part of its construction philosophy. Cigarette Racing Team engineers focused their attention on lightweight construction in key locations such as the raked hardtop and parts of the superstructure using carbon fibre. Meanwhile, the hull and deck are made from laminated composites with PVC coring.
The boat also features a unique gyrostabiliser, which decreases the boat’s roll by 80 percent. This feature is especially brilliant when stationary in choppy water. The boat also features both bow and stern thrusters, making docking very simple for a boat of this size, said its builder's. Of course, it also gets all the things a luxury sports boat should have, like a 29-speaker 5,200-watt sound system and a summer kitchen at the boat’s aft, for example.
Back on land, the Cigarette Racing boat gets company in the form of the one-of-a-kind Mercedes-AMG G 63 Cigarette Edition. The G-wagon here stands as a testament to the collaboration between Mercedes-AMG and the Cigarette Racing Team.
The G 63 sits on 22-inch Mercedes-AMG cross-spoke forged wheels which are highlighted with gold accents at the wheel centre caps and at the rim flange. It also features AMG Night Package elements, a dark chrome radiator grille, bulbar and matte black side entry boards.
The interior of the hot G-wagon – for the first time in line with the interior of the boat – features a macchiato beige and dark blue two-tone Nappa leather upholstery, as well as an AMG-performance steering wheel in carbon fibre with dark blue Nappa leather based on the interior of the boat.
No prices are quoted for either speed craft. However, there is a gallery that’s filled with gorgeous imagery for your viewing pleasure.
