Mercedes-Benz Wheels Out New Vito Van Range

Long regarded as the aspirational, benchmark van, Mercedes-Benz’ Vito lineup has just received a significant update. Vito remains the only van sold in Australia to score the maximum five-star safety rating from ANCAP.

Headlining the improvements are a range of new diesel engines available with outputs of 70kW (Vito 110 CDI), 100kW (Vito 113 CDI) and 120 kW (Vito 116 CDI). These combine with a new six-speed manual transmission to provide reduced fuel consumption by up to 15 per cent.

Vito’s diesel range-topper is the V6 122 CDI which provides improved output (now 165kW) and also reduced fuel consumption.

The rear-wheel-drive chassis has been massively upgraded – in fact only the front and rear axles share the existing model’s configuration.

On the outside, updated looks bring the Vito range in-line with Mercedes-Benz’ current global passenger car design philosophy. There’s also new reflector headlights (Bi-xenon and LED daytime running lights are on the options list).

Inside the cockpit and passenger compartment have been improved with improved materials, a new gear-lever and a four-spoke multi-function steering wheel for Vito 113, 116 and 122.
