Mitsubishi Motors Australia has announced that their Pajero Sport will be offering more value to customers with the addition of standard 7 seats in the 2016 range. Dealers should have the updated Pajero Sport range from July 1st.

Not all variants of the Pajero Sport will be getting the third row of seats as a standard fit, however. The GLX, for example, will remain a five-seat model.

But when it comes to the higher GLS and top Exceed variants, not only will Mitsubishi fit those with standard third-row seats (bringing the seated passenger count to a maximum of 7), all seven seat variants of the Pajero Sport will have curtain airbags covering the full length of the cabin.

When not in use, the third row seats can fold forward to create a large flat area for an increase in cargo space. The seats themselves have an even layout where the second row seats have 60:40 split and have a simple fold and tumble function to access the third row quickly and easily.

In addition, Mitsubishi will also have extra roof mounted ventilation for second and, now, third row passengers fitted to all variants including the GLX (which, as mentioned, will not have third row seats).

As was the case before, the Pajero Sport is powered by a 2.4-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine and drives all four wheels through Mitsubishi’s Super Select II all-wheel drive system via an 8-speed automatic transmission.
