Mitsubishi’s Tokyo Show star – the ‘eX Concept’ – embraces just about all of the current fads of the automotive industry.
It’s got an electric motor, it’s an SUV, features automated driving technology and it’s styled like a ‘shooting brake’.
Like Tesla’s latest, Mitsubishi’s eX Concept employs two 70kW electric motors, one driving the front wheels and one driving the rears.
The electronics see a high-capacity and high-performance battery system promising to deliver a cruising range between re-charges of 400kms.
We like the sporty styling and the powerful front-end features a new interpretation of Mitsubishi’s ‘Dynamic Shield’ grille which employs DRLs and turn signals mounted high so they’re easier to see by pedestrians while the headlights are under the ends of the front bumper.
Access comes via doors with no B-pillar and inside are seats with different colours and Augmented Reality (AR) which displays lots of information directly onto the windscreen.
