Mitsubishi’s Lancer is coming to the end of its model life but the 2015 model enjoys some extra specification and a new starting price of just $18,990.
And of course the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO remains - dollar-for-dollar, thrill-for-thrill – one of the benchmark high-performance Japanese vehicles even now some years after debut.
Just when the all-new Mitsubishi lancer will bow is a good question.
You’d get short odds on the Tokyo Motor Show – but that’s not until next year which certainly means the current Lancer will have whiskers on it before the replacement arrives.
However, across the range for the 2015 update, Mitsubishi Lancer gains the flashing ESS (Emergency Stop Signal) system, new door trims and new exterior mirrors with inbuilt turn indicators.
Entry-level ES Sport model picks-up the nice Ralliart seat trim, leather look centre console trim and new two-tone 16-inch alloy wheels.
And for the value-packed Ralliart model you can chalk-up that new seat trim material.
No changes under the bonnet with Mitsubishi Lancer continuing to employ either the 110kW 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine or the 125kW, 2.4-litre powerplant.
