Audi has launched its updated A4 range, highlighted by the local debut of the range-topping S4 Avant (wagon), three new engines and across-the-range 15 per-cent better fuel consumption.
Pricing adjustments see the safety of Audi’s acclaimed Quattro all-wheel-drive now more affordable with the A4 2.0 TFSI Quattro now stickered at $61,700. Audi’s revised A4 range kicks-off at $52,700 for the 1.8 TFSI manual while the rip-snorting S4 with its 245kW/440Nm 3.0 TFSI engine is priced at $120,400 (sedan) and $123,900 (Avant).
New arrivals under the bonnet include the 3.0 TDI diesel with 150kW/400Nm and combined cycle fuel consumption of just 4.9l/100kms. Also new is the 1.8 TFSI petrol with 125kW on-tap – 18 per-cent more power than the previous generation – and the 2.0 TFSI with 155kW/350Nm, while the entry-level 2.0 TDI diesel has been boosted to 130kW/380Nm 2.0 TDI.
Across the range equipment ;levels are up. For example the 2.0 TFSI Quattro comes with the latest MMI Navigation plus, Xenon headlights with LED DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels and electronic adjustment for the front seats.
