A fresh look, new engines, new transmissions and a new infotainment system highlight Audi’s new A6 range which will arrive in local showrooms in March.
Styling sees new front and rear views – the front gaining a revised Singleframe grille, a new bumper, new air intakes and new headlights.
The new Audi A6 will be available with LED or Matric LED light technology and dynamic turn signals.
At the rear is a new bumper, new rear lights and revised exhaust tailpipes.
There’s also a new design for the side sills.
Inside are some new colours – Flint Grey for the A6 and Salsa Red for the awesome S6.
And there is a new infotainment system with a retractable eight-inch monitor on a new technology platform from Nvidia with the fast Tegra graphics chip and Audi connect which transfers data via the fast LTE standard to bring tailored on-line services in-car including new media streaming apps.
Under the bonnet you have a choice of three TFSI petrol engines ranging from 140kW to 245kW and five TDI turbo-diesels ranging from 110kW to 240kW.
The most efficient engines wear the ‘ultra’ tag – combined with the all-new S-tronic transmission, the 1.8 TFSI is good for 5.7l/100kms while the 2.0 TDI returns juts 4.22l/100kms.
Range-topping 3.0TFSI and 3.0 TDI engines have both been completely re-done – the bi-turbo 3.0 TDI now up to 235kW and the sporty competition special edition models go further with 240kw- 255kW on-tap (they also drive through an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission.
The stunning S6 models (one of our favourite cars) get the 331kW 4.0TFSI biturbo V8 and the sedan covers zero to 100km/h in just 4.4 seconds.
Or how about the RS 6 Avant – without doubt one of the world’s most desirable wagons with a 412kW version of the 4.0 TFSI engine and zero to 100km/h in just 3.9 seconds.
The Audi RS 5 Avant also comes with an eight-speed Tiptronic plus a unique centre differential, RS adaptive air suspension which lowers the ride height by 20mm, 20-inch wheels, bigger brakes and optional Dynamic Ride Control.
