Fiat’s new and improved Doblo commercial van has arrived in Australia offering cargo space of 3.4 cubic-metres for short-wheelbase versions and 4.2 cubic-metres for larger ‘Maxi’ models.
Engine choices are a 70kW/127Nm 1.4-litre petrol or three diesels – two 1.6-litre versions offering either 66kW/200Nm or 77kW/290Nm or a 2.0-litre delivering 99kW/320Nm.
Fiat Australia says the Doblo sits a new platform (but didn’t elaborate on the details) but most importantly, out-back is a cargo area measuring 1,230mm between the wheel-arches and either 1,820mm or 2,170mm in length.
On the styling front, Fiat says the Doblo’s large windscreen provides an open/airy feeling inside.
Like others in this segment, the Fiat Doblo has entered the ‘laptop’ era with a lockable glovebox large enough to handle a 14-inch device.
