Mercedes-Benz showed the new SLK in Melbourne and confirmed the starting price will be $82,900 for the SLK 200 BlueEFFICIENCY. That’s nearly $9,000 less than the current model.
The new SLK looks superb with its modernized styling (including the new upright radiator grille) delivering an aerodynamic improvement (now down to Cd 0.30) while front-fender air vents are reminiscent of the classic ‘Benz roadsters from the 1950s.
Big new for the new SLK vario-roof which now includes Magic Sky Control – the glass can be switched from clear to shade.
Airscarfe brings warm air to occupants’ necks and Airguide channels turbulent air around the cockpit as desired.
The entry-level, four-cylinder Mercedes-Benz SLK 200 BlueEFFICIENCY ($82,900) is good for 135kW of power, while the more powerful, SLK 250 BlueEFFICIENCY (150kW) will not be launched until next year so ‘Benz has not as yet confirmed pricing.
Range-topper for the SLK is the 3.5-litre V6 SLK350 Blue EFFICIENCY, good for 225kw and stickered at $118,900.
