That old chestnut of the automotive industry “enough power to pull out a street stump” has been overshadowed by the Y62 model Nissan Patrol which has towed a 170.9-ton cargo plane.
Nissan’s plane-pulling feat took place in Dubai and the Patrol hauled the plane over 50-metres to set a new Guinness World Record.
In fact the Patrol smashed the previous record by 15 tonnes.
And we’re not talking a two-seat Cessna here – the plane in question was a Russian Ilyushin IL-76 complete with fuel and cargo.
So if you’re thinking about a new SUV to tow your caravan or horse float we reckon the Nissan patrol might have your needs covered.
