It’s 30 years since George Fury’s memorable pole position at the Bathurst 1000 in his turbocharged Nissan Bluebird and to celebrate Nissan has unveiled the Pulsar SSS Heritage Edition at Mount Panorama in the lead-up this this year’s race.
Only 40 of the great-looking Pulsar SSS models are being produced and the newcomer debuted alongside the number 36 Nissan Altima V8 Supercar which has gained similar commemorative paintwork for this weekend’s race.
The turbocharged Nissan Pulsar SSS Heritage Edition hatchback is available in either ‘Polar White’ or ‘Brilliant Silver’ with either a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic.
You get the hallmark Nissan Motorsport red and blue stripes and branding, ‘Heritage Edition’ floor mats and head rests, interior badges and a Nissan Motorsport heritage team shirt.
Prices are $28,990 ‘Driveaway’ for the manual or $31,631 ‘Driveaway’ for the CVT auto.
A Nissan Pulsar SSS Heritage Edition is also on offer in the Seven Network telecast of this weekend’s Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
It’s not just Holden and Ford which have a rich history at ‘Australia’s Great Race’ – as well as Fury’s pole position in the Bluebird, the awesome all-wheel-drive Nissan GTR tasted success on the mountain before clandestine moves behind the scenes banned them from racing and we went down the two-make Holden and Ford V8 Supercar road (now abandoned and Nissan is back racing with the Altima).
