Nissan Tests NV200 Electric Delivery Van In London

Nissan has partnered with FedEx to test the electric NV200 delivery van in the real world environment of London streets.

The NV200 uses the same electric drive train as the Nissan LEAF hatchback which goes on-sale in Australia next year.

Switching city-based courier fleets to electric power would be a major contributor to reducing smog in major cities and FedEx already runs 43 electric vehicles in London, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Memphis.

The Nissan NV200 is well-suited to life as a delivery vehicle offering an 80 per cent quick re-charge in just 30 minutes and a full re-charge overnight.

As well as the FedEx trial in London, Nissan is currently trialing a fleet of electric NV200 vans at home with the Japan Post Service.
