Well that’s… a teaser?
New York will be the stage for Japanese automaker Nissan to show off their new Altima family saloon, having released a short ‘teaser’ film announcing the debut date for the immensely-popular four door.
We say ‘teaser’ because it doesn’t actually show anything of the car. And when we say ‘immensely-popular,’ we mean that it’s immensely popular there. Should you not have been aware, Nissan culled the Altima early last year and its other traditional-saloon siblings after dwindling sales, focusing entirely on SUVs (with the exception of the 370Z and GT-R sports cars).
Just to give you an idea of how bad the situation is for saloons since the arrival of the SUV, the Altima only managed to move 4593 units in the 42-months preceding its removal from the lineup in April 2017. In comparison, the Toyota Camry moved similar numbers in Q1 2017.
