General Motor’s European brands Vauxhall and Opel have this week taken the wraps from the latest Insignia mid-sizer.
Expect the good-looking updated model to be launch in Australia as an Opel later this year.
As usual with mid-life updates, styling changes are limited to the front and rear but in the case of the Insignia, do bring significantly different looks. Opel enthusiasts will notice the new bumpers, headlights, tail-lights and grille.
Inside the latest Insignia ramps-up the sports theme with a classy flat-bottom steering wheel, a modern instrument display and updated switchgear.
Powerplants are headed by the 184kW/400Nm turbocharged 2.0-litre SIDI petrol engine. There’s also GM’s new 1.6-litre turbocharged SIDI engine good for 125kW/260Nm.
Diesel choice is the 2.0-litre turbo-diesel in 88kW and 103kW guise as well as the 143kW/400Nm Bi-turbo 2.0-litre.
No word yet from Opel Australia on local plans.
