Italian design firm Pininfarina is progressing well with its upcoming electric hypercar, the Battista. The beautiful zero-emissions vehicle is easy on the eye and the environment, but it’s also capable of absolutely ballistic performance, something that’s kept motoring hacks like this writer affixed to its development.

For the Turin show this weekend, Pininfarina’s brought a Battista that’s been very slightly updated for the occasion. The most obvious change is the colour – it’s called Blu Iconica, and we feel that it captures the curves and creases of the Battista’s body ever so perfectly, regardless of the lighting condition. Pininfarina also said they made some small changes to critical aerodynamics-related pieces, in order to improve aerodynamic performance. They didn’t talk about what was changed or what those changes achieved; We’ll just have to believe them.

“It is incredibly exciting to be presenting the Battista in Turin, near its home of Cambiano. Since its debut at the Geneva Auto Show, the Battista has stunned audiences around the world with its beauty and purity of design. I am pleased to be presenting it with these latest masterstrokes that make the form of the car even more beautiful and elegant, and true to Pininfarina’s design principles.” – Luca Borgogno, Design Director, Automobili Pininfarina

Beneath that ‘purely beautiful’ body lies a 120kWh battery, designed & engineered by Rimac, which powers four electric motors (one in each wheel). Rated output stands at 1,397kW and 2,300Nm, which Pininfarina reckons should allow the Battista to hit 100km/h from rest in just two seconds before hitting a top speed of 350km/h. When you aren’t being an idiot about it, it should also be able to do 450km between charges.
