The Porsche 911 range has a new top dog, at least in terms of sheer power and acceleration, called the Turbo S Exclusive. That is, of course, until the loopy GT2 RS drops.
It’s very gold, first of all, and is part of a limited worldwide run of 500 examples of hand built editions that will comprise of a more fully realised Exclusive Series in the near future, produced by the newly christened ‘Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur’, a brand previously known as Porsche Exclusive. They will soon have their paws on the Panamera and Macan too, we suspect.
This colour scheme matches the 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series Chronograph watch by Porsche Design which, like the car, is a limited edition and part of a 500 unit run.
They will offer the 911 Turbo Exclusive (car) in other colours than this Golden Yellow Metallic, if you were wondering, though we do like the way it subtly emphasises the Fuchs-inspired forged alloys and centre-locking hub.
Naturally, there are a lot of cosmetic upgrades lavished upon the car’s exterior and interior. It wears a Turbo Aerokit and lightweight components that include a carbon fibre bonnet, roof, side skirts, and engine ram air scoops. There’s even exposed carbon weave strips that runs the length of the car (almost).
Now, on to the most interesting part of the 911 Turbo S Exclusive: the increased performance. It comes courtesy of a uprated 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six. Porsche has tuned it to develop 446kW and 750Nm - a 20kW improvement over the standard Turbo S motor.
The extra shove helps it sprint to 100km/h in 2.9 seconds, taking 9.6 seconds to surge past 200km/h and will only run out of puff at a quoted 330km/h. Seeing as how the car it’s based on already offers properly ludicrous acceleration and speed, we do wonder how noticeable the experience is altered through this power kit.
Stepping inside, an ‘Exclusive Series’ plaque greets you and there are 18-way adjustable sports seats covered in dual-layer perforated leather with the same yellow gold accents while the rest of the interior has matching contrast stitching. The roof is lined in Alcantara while yet more carbon fibre highlights are strewn about the cabin, only it’s threaded with copper for an extra unique look.
Porsche is asking for $590,700 for this (quite literally) Exclusive new 911. As previously stated, only 500 will come into existence and only very few will end up on Australian shores.
