We can now officially start counting the sleeps until the all-new Mustang arrives in Australia with production kicking-off at Ford’s historic Flat Rock, Michigan plant.
With right-hand-drive models now officially included for the first time, the all-new sixth-generation Ford Mustang is destined for sale in more than 120 global markets (including Australia, South Africa and the United Kingdom).
While the export markets will have to wait until 2015, all-new Ford Mustang will go on-sale in North American within months.
Ford has promised Car Showroom a drive in a left-hand-drive Mustang before year’s end , but if that doesn’t happen, don’t worry as a mate of ours in Newport Beach, California has one on order - so if Ford doesn’t deliver on its promise we’ll just jump on a Qantas A380 and hit the roads in the O.C. in our mate’s ‘Stang.
Either way you’ll have our drive impressions before the start of Australian sales.
Australian models will be powered by either the uprated 5.0-litre V8 engine or a 3.7-litre V6. The turbocharged 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine will be available in North America and Europe only we understand.
Of course Ford Mustang celebrated its 50th birthday in April this year and the ‘Blue Oval’ company has sold more 9.2 million of its iconic American muscle car.
We can’t wait until the all-new Ford Mustang arrives…now let’s see it’s how many sleeps until 31 December and then…
