Malaysian brand Proton is set to expand its local model range with the launch of the all-new ‘Suprima S’ hatchback.
Power comes from Proton’s 103kW/205Nm turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol engine driving the front wheels via Proton’s seven-speed Protronic CVT transmission.
Proton will lob the Suprima S into Australia’s stove-hot small car segment and has cleverly fully-loaded its newcomer with equipment such as satellite navigation, interior leather, cruise control, 7-inch touchscreen Android-based infotainment system, ESC, ABShill-hold assist, DRLs and rear LED lights. Amongst the extras in the premium model is the safety of a reversing camera.
Speaking of safety, Proton says the Suprima S enjoys a five-star ANCAP safety rating.
