Propelled by an all-new 260kW/500Nm 3.0 TFSI turbocharged V6 engine, the S4 sedan and S4 Avant (wagon) have shot to the top of Audi’s new A4 range.
The Frankfurt debutants drive through a new eight-speed tiptronic transmission and Quattro AWD to cover zero to 100km/h in just 4.7 seconds.
They’re due on-sale in Australia next year.
The Audi S4 models sit on the new five-link suspension (active damper control is on the options list) but ride 23mm lower than the standard models.
Standard wheels are 18-inch five-spoke alloys or you can option 19-inchers.
Styling is the usual Audi ‘S’ look with unique front and rear bumpers and matt grey paint for some of the extra components.
And inside is the usual ‘S’ sporty elegance with sports seat in Nappa leather/Alcantara, MMI navigation plus, Bang & Olufsen audio and optional Audi virtual cockpit.
File the latest S4 under ‘M’ for ‘Must-Have’…we haven’t met an ‘S’ model Audi we haven’t loved.
