Please please please let these updates get here, too.
For the 2019 model year, luxury off-roader marque Range Rover has brought about some kit revisions for its stylish Velar SUV, adding more engine choices and being a bit more generous with some of the standard equipment.
Two V6 motors join the lineup, one running unleaded and the other an oiler, while petrol-powered cars now get an 82L fuel tank over the previous standard 63L. That’s good, as the new V6 petrol mill is a 3.0-litre supercharged mill, called the P340, which puts out 250kW and 450Nm. Thirst is assured.
If you’re more sensible, you may be drawn to the D275 V6 diesel, with a healthy 202kW and impressive 625Nm, with the latter number accessible from just 1500rpm. Both cars use the same 8-speed auto as the rest of the range, with all four wheels putting power to the ground.
The standard equipment list has been given a once-over too, with a reversing camera, all-round parking sensors, AEB, lane keep assistance, and driver drowsiness alert all coming on as standard.
Optional kit now includes things like Adaptive Dynamics, which monitors wheel movement 500-times a second, and body roll about 100-times a second, promising an unruffled, confident ride if you’re hammering it or just cruising along. Further, adaptive cruise control with steering assist is now available too, essentially bringing semi-autonomous driving capabilities to the Velar range at speeds up to 180km/h.
Jaguar-Land Rover Australia have yet to confirm that the 2019MY updates will be applied across the local range, but we will bring you those updates as they come.
