A new Chevrolet Colorado has broken cover in Brazil with new looks and some extra kit. Holden will be offering it to Australian buyers towards the end of the year.
The 2017 Chevrolet Colorado pickup recently made its debut in Brazil with a host of changes over what is currently on offer. Most of these are exterior-focused, to be sure, but the refresh has crept into the interior experience too.
This peek will definitely give Australian buyers a pretty decent idea about what to expect when it does land on our shores when its sold under the Holden brand later this year. Holden did play a key part in the development of this new Colorado, along with Chevrolet Brazil.
There’s a new and more aggressive front fascia, a more pronounced grille, slimmer LED daytime running lights, and an altogether more angular front hood – all in service to the more aggressive look that the new Colorado is chasing.
Inside, notable new additions includes the new Holden MyLink infotainment system that comes with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There’s also more focus given to improving the comfort and refinement level inside the cabin, with thoughtful use of materials to provide a more upmarket feel.
Holden will also be offering the new Colorado with accessories inspired by the Colorado Xtreme show truck seen at the Bangkok Motor Show such as a safari bar, sports bar and alloy wheels.
Peter Keley, Holden’s Executive Director of Sales, said: “The Chevrolet Colorado revealed by our Brazilian colleagues is the result of ongoing work between Holden and Chevrolet Brazil and a clear indication of where the Holden Colorado is heading,”
“With significant local engineering, this vehicle will be the most refined Colorado ever while maintaining all of the capability of the current model. When combined with a new design that balances elegance and strength, it will perfectly bridge the gap between weekday workhorse and weekend explorer.
“It will also follow the lead set by Spark, Captiva and Insignia VXR, boasting advanced technology features, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in a new Holden MyLink infotainment system.”
