Renault has given its Captur mini crossover a refresh for the 2016 model year with a new engine in the range, some minor improvements all around, along with a new limited edition top-spec variant.
This new addition to the range is called the Iconic Nav and comes in a special Arctic White pearlescent paint finish with a Diamond Black two-tone body colour and accented with roof and mirror decals in blue. It also gains new 17-inch ‘Explore’ alloy wheels.
The cabin of the new range-topping Captur includes semi-leather seats upholstered with light blue contrast stitching, a theme that extends to its new light blue interior touch pack around the centre stack. There are matte detailing around the cabin for good measure, heated front driver and passenger seats as standard, and aluminium foot pedals.
Apart from the visual flourishes, the Captur Iconic Nava gains Renault’s Grip Xtend traction control system which even includes terrain settings to cope with mud and snow. Aside from that, there’s the R-Link Evolution infotainment system with more comprehensive navigation and integration with a reversing camera.
In addition to the new variant, Renault has now mated the 1.2 TCe petrol engine to their dual-clutch EDC automatic transmission for more countries that the Captur is sold in.
Those selecting the Dynamique Nav variant or higher will now be able to specify the popular Flame Red metallic paint option, selectable with a Diamond Black roof. Also optional would be a red interior touch pack that takes the place of the light blue touch pack in the Iconic Nav spec.
Renault has yet to announce availability of the Captur Iconic Nav special edition for markets outside Europe.
