Renault is claiming best-in-class fuel economy (5.2l/100kms) for the diesel version of its latest, facelifted Kangoo van range.
In addition, Renault says the new Kangoo is larger and better-equipped for commercial van operators.
Longer and wider than its predecessor and featuring a slicker, more aerodynamic look, the new Renault Kangoo can carry a payload up to 800kgs in its 3.0 cubic meter cargo area.
Power comes from either a 1.6-litre petrol engine offering 78kW/148Nm and fuel consumption of 8.3l/100kms, or a 1.5-litre common rail turbo-diesel with 63kW/200Nm and fuel consumption of 5.1l/100kms. Drive is to the front wheels via either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.
The Kangoo shares its platform with Renault’s Scenic people mover which ensures low levels of NVH and nice chassis balance.
Inside the new Kangoo provides lots of handy storage spots for commercial van operators including a 15-litre glovebox which can fit two laptop computers, under-seat storage boxes and a dashboard compartment perfectly sized for A4 paperwork.
The new Renault Kangoo is priced from $25,990 ‘Driveaway’.
