Savvy residents of large European cities have embraced Renault’s all-electric ‘quadricycle’ Twizy – they appreciate its zero-emissions driving, comfort and practicality.
Now Renault Australia has brought the Twizy to Australia and plans to sell it here.
But now it gets complex as the two-seater will need to comply with local passenger car legislative requirements.
“Twizy offers a unique, imaginative and exciting view of future personal mobility, one that would fit very well into our increasingly crowded cityscapes,” explained Renault Australia chief Justin Hocevar. “It is possible to fit three Twizys into a standard car park and in addition Twizy can be charged overnight from a standard household socket.
Renault is on the front foot for zero-emissions motoring and currently has some electric Kangoo ZE light vans on-test with Australia Post.
Clearly for many city commuters the Twizy could be an ideal solution – for example it is far safer and more weather-proof than a scooter (and you don’t get ‘helmet hair’).
