$46,990 for this sharper-looking wagon.
If you’ve recently visited a Skoda showroom looking at the Kodiaq SUV and thought it could do with a little more visual vim, good news! The Czech carmaker has brought in the sharper, more athletic-looking Kodiaq Sportline just for you, and we have to admit, it does look rather dashing.
No sporty (or sporty-ish) proposition is complete without an exterior makeover, and the Kodiaq Sportline is no different. You’ll notice the revised bumpers on either end, the blacked out accents around the grille and window frames, the 20-inch anthracite alloy wheels, blacked out mirrors and roof rails, and the Velvet Red paint hue.
Inside, the Kodiaq Sportline continues the design revisions. You’ll immediately note the sports seats, which look outstanding, and is trimmed in a mix of Alcantara and leather and is finished with contrasting silver stitching and a quilted design in their centres. Further, you’ll find black headlining and aluminium pedals in the Kodiaq Sportline, as well as paddle shifters mounted on the back of a meaty flat-bottomed steering wheel.
The infotainment system also features a special ‘performance monitor’ that allows you to… monitor your performance. Aside from the infotainment system, there’s more kit here too, with auto-dimming side mirrors, that are hooked up to the memory function in the drivers seat (and adjust accordingly).
The Kodiaq Sportline can be had in 132TSI petrol and 140TDI diesel guises, with the former priced from $46,990 and the latter from $52,990. With the petrol, you get a 2.0-litre turbo-4 putting out a healthy 132kW and 320Nm. With the diesel, you get a 2.0-litre turbodiesel putting out a brawnier 140kW and 400Nm, but both cars use a 7-speed double-clutch auto and send power to all four wheels.
If you feel your Kodiaq Sportline is lacking in kit, fret not, as for $2600 or $3400 you can add the Tech or Luxury Pack to your big Skoda. With the Tech Pack, you get features like autonomous parking and a 10-speaker audio system. And with the Luxury Pack, you get things like blind-spot monitoring, tai-zone climate control, and a 360º camera system.
