As anyone who has visited Britain during the summer can attest, UK motorists are keen caravan enthusiasts and often tow their vans with vehicle sizes unfamiliar to us.
No surprises then the British Caravan Club takes towing seriously and, for the second consecutive year has named the SKODA Superb Estate 2.0-litre TDI DSG as Britain’s Towcar Of The Year.
The judging team comprised motoring journalists, caravanning experts and even former Grand Prix racer Johnny Herbert who put the 30 contending vehicles through their paces at the Millbrook Proving Ground. Tests assessed general towing ability and maneuverability as well as acceleration, braking and hill starts.
“We know the caravanning community is an enthusiastic supporter of the Superb Elegance Estate. It’s powerful 2.0-litre diesel and efficient DSG transmission create a refined and stable base for stress-free long-distance towing,” enthused SKODA UK boss Robert Hazelwood.
