The 103TDI powerplant is a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel delivering 103kW of power and peak torque of 320Nm between 1750rpm and 2500rpm. Drive is via a six-speed DSG automatic transmission and fuel consumption is impressive at 6.4l/100kms.

Stepping up to the all-wheel-drive models brings a new fourth generation Haldex-clutch based system. Under normal conditions, the latest Skoda Superb delivers 96 per cent of its power to the front wheels, but in slippery going, up to 97.2 per cent can be transferred to the wheels with traction.
