Skoda called in the rally specialists from its motorsport division, threw-in a set of brakes from the Octavia RS and the result is the one-off Yeti ‘Extreme’ model.
To highlight the Skoda exhibit at this week’s GTI gathering in Wörthersee, Austria, the hip and very racy Skoda Yeti extreme is…well, extreme!...with just two seats, a race car-like aluminium floor inside, plus Recaro sports seats, four-point safety harnesses, carbon-fibre inner door skins, ‘Super Sports’ steering wheel and even a fire extinguisher.
Power comes from a 112kW/250Nm version of the 1.8-litre TSI engine, driving through a six-speed DSG transmission.
Wheels are 17-inch alloys with off-road tyres and underneath is a chassis with adjustable ride height.
Styling gets a sporty upgrade with extra-large air intakes, special bumpers and aero kit and a racing exhaust with twin tailpipes. Inside the rear hatch is a spare wheel and recovery mats (to push under the wheels if you get stuck off-road).
