Audi’s pocket rocket RS Q3 is a confirmed starter in Australia before the end of this year.
The RS Q3 features a blistering new version of Audi’s mighty 2.5 TFSI turbocharged five-cylinder petrol engine with a revised fuel pump and extra cooling to deliver 20kW of extra power (now 270kW) and 465Nm of torque between 1625 and 5550rpm.
Driving through a sporty dual-clutch seven-speed S tronic transmission with throttle-blipping downchanges - as well as Quattro all-wheel-drive naturally! – we’re talking zero to 100km/h in 4.4 seconds.
In Europe the Audi RS Q3 logs combined-cycle fuel consumption of 8.6l/100kms.
Suspension is the Audi RS sports version with ride height lowered by 20mm and a firmer tune. Electronic damper control is one the options list.
Styling is the usual Audi RS job with new bumpers, larger air intakes with black honeycomb grills and a matt titanium look for the Singleframe grille and other exterior parts.
There’s also matt titanium available for the RS 20-inch alloy wheels.
Inside are black/blue sports seats, grey instruments with white dials and red needles plus the beautiful Audi RS leather-wrapped sports steering wheel.
The Audi RS Q3 will be revealed next month at the Geneva Motor Show and Australian specifications and prices are under development.
