Subaru Unveils Viziv-7 Concept

Subaru today pulled the wraps off of its latest concept SUV, the Viziv-7, signalling the Pleiades’ entry into the lucrative full-size SUV market.

Speaking to the media, Subaru Vice President Takeshi Tachimori said that the production version of the Viziv-7 “will be the biggest Subaru ever.” Measuring 5,199mm in length, 2,030mm wide, and 1,828mm tall, the Viziv-7 is most definitely large. Natural competitors like the Toyota Kluger, Hyundai Santa Fe, and the new Volkswagen Atlas will cower in its shadow; The Viziv-7 trumps them all.

Subaru has been very forthcoming about the production schedule for the car though, saying that it should hit the US market sometime in 2018, and that it ought to replace the since-discontinued Tribeca there. What they haven’t commented on is what lies under the bonnet, though speculation is circling around a 3.6-litre flat-six (as seen on some of Subaru’s bigger cars) or a turbocharged flat-four.

We have reason to believe that the Viziv-7 production car will only be available in the United States, as its rumoured production hub (also in the US) will be tooling the car as left-hand drive only.
