Toyota’s Australian-built Aurion sedan is the cheapest large family car to run, according to a survey conducted by the NSW-based NRMA.
Covering 1,200 new vehicles, the NRMA survey found owning and operating a Toyota Aurion costs on average 79.68 cents per kilometer. No other large family sedan was under 80 cents per kilometer.
In determining the figures, the NRMA survey took into account price, depreciation, registration, insurance, maintenance and fuel.
Toyota Aurion is manufactured in Melbourne and is sold locally and also exported in big numbers to markets like the Middle East.
Power comes from Toyota’s smooth 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine which returns average fuel consumption of 9.9l/100kms.
