Tesla’s out of production hell with its Model 3 now, and so they can finally get to work on feeding the markets that have been desperate to get their hands on them, like us. It’s been three years since the reservations opened on the Model 3 and now, finally, we have a more concrete indication of when we might be able to see a compact American EV on our driveways.
On his favourite platform, Tesla boss Elon Musk tweeted that the order page for the Model 3 in the UK will go live “next week, followed shortly thereafter by Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and Hong Kong.” That suggests that just maybe, the Model 3 could make local landfall as early as the end of the year, though a Q1 2020 arrival date would be ore feasible.
Musk didn’t say which Model 3 configurations will be offered locally, as availability remains limited to the Standard Range Plus RWD, Long Range AWD, and Performance AWD even in the US. The price-leading model remains a rare machine for now, as Tesla only offers it on special order, not via the website like everything else.
