The Rezvani Tank X Is A V8 Nuclear Bunker

The Rezvani Tank exists in the fringes of the automotive landscape, one that’s probably ultra-exclusive but also irradiated and possibly infested with zombies. Hence, it goes to extremes to protect its occupants, which it does with speed and an apocalypse-ready construction, making the most of its Wrangler underpinnings.

It doesn’t look all too different from the version that introduced us first to the Tank, but Rezvani has made some rather practical updates to their XUV or ‘Xtreme Utility Vehicle’. It starts with the second row doors which are now hinged front hinged, but now the handles themselves can be electrified to stop unwanted openers. Neat.

The rest of the body is still fully armoured and bulletproof, of course, but the new Tank adds immunity from EMPs (electro-magnetic pulses) to the list of features, shielding it from at least one portion of the damage done by a nuclear blast (or powerful solar flare). Handy.

And because the Tank the hardy Jeep’s platform and much of its running gear, it can tackle almost any of rough terrain without breaking a sweat with adjustable 4-wheel drive and its custom Fox suspension.

In terms of powertrains, Rezvani will slot in any kind you want - just as long as it comes from the FCA parts bin. For the sensible post-apocalyptic millionaire, there’s a fuel-sipping turbodiesel for maximum range, useful for finding the nearest human settlement.

On the other hand, there’s also the supercharged 6.2-litre HEMI V8 shared with the Dodge Challenger Demon. However, the company has tuned it to produce over 740kW and about 1170Nm - overkill, when it concerns your wasteland survival, is now the bare minimum.

Prices for the Tank can stray into truly ludicrous territory, especially when speccing the Tank X with the aforementioned HEMI and all the bells and whistles (over AU$510,000), however prices start at around AU$230,000.
