Mazda has fired the first shot for December's Tokyo Motor Show by announcing it will debut the all-new Takeri mid-size sedan.
The Takeri looks good in photos and Mazda says its new mid-sizer will run the full repertoire of SKYACTIV technology including the SKYACTIV-D clean diesel engine. Car Showroom has tested this ground-breaking low compression diesel when Mazda brought out a German Mazda6 prototype fitted with the new powerplant - we can certainly vouch for its performance around Melbourne's Sandown Raceway.
Mazda says the Takeri will also debut its new idling stop system and regenerative braking system.
But the honour of being the first Mazda on sale with full SKYACTIV technology goes to the new Mazda CX-5 compact SUV which will make its home market debut at the Tokyo Motor Show.
Car Showroom will be at the Tokyo Motor Show media preview and we will bring you the full story November 30 – December 1.
