BMW has launched a revised X1 compact SUV range which benefits from a mid-life update.
The changes bring the latest BMW TwinPower engines, an optional eight-speed automatic transmission and updated styling inside and out.
Petrol power (sDrive 20i and xDrive 28i) comes from BMW’s turbocharged 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine. The sDrive 20i delivers 135kW/270Nm while the range-topping xDrive 28i is good for 180kW/350Nm.
Entry-level sDrive 18d employs a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo diesel providing 105kW/320Nm.
From the BMW EfficientDynamics department, all BMW X1 models now feature fuel-saving brake energy regeneration and auto start/stop (manual and auto).
On the outside, the latest BMW X1 can be identified by new front and rear bumpers, new headlights and integration of the cornering lights into the rear-view mirrors.
Inside are new trim highlights and improved quality materials.
Included in the extras for entry-level sDrive models are new 17-inch alloy wheels, cruise control with braking function and rear park distance control. New xDrive models add 18-inch alloy wheels, a sports leather steering wheel and Chrome Line exterior package.
In addition there’s four mew paint colours, a wider choice of interior trims and three new optional alloy wheels.
In addition to the optional M Sport package the new BMW X1 comes in the BMW Lines specification – xLine and Sport Line.
