Ford’s German-origin Kuga is one of the favourite SUVs of www.carshowroom.com.au and there’s lots of positives in the updated TF Kuga MkII range – not the least of which are price cuts of up to $750 on some models.
There’s also a better engines and a new entry-grade Ambiente model with an automatic transmission.
Opening the batting now is the front-drive Ford Kuga Ambiente manual which is priced at just $27,490.
Other big news is significantly more power courtesy of some new engines which replace the 1.6-litre EcoBoost petrol powerplant.
Trend and Titanium models ditch the 134kW/240Nm 1.6-litre engine and go for a punchy 178kW/345Nm 2.0-litre EcoBoost unit which is still good for impressive combined-cycle fuel consumption of 8.8l/100kms.
And entry-level Ambiente petrol models score a 1.5-litre EcoBoost engine with 110kW/240Nm (manual) or 134kW/240Nm (automatic).
For diesel-fuelled Ford Kugas, you can chalk-up 132kW/400Nm (over 120kW/340Nm in the previous model).
Other changes see standard fitment of the accessory reversing camera (a factory-fitted version will arrive in Spring next year) and addition of a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System in the optional Technology Pack ($1,600) for Trend and Titanium models.
And the excellent ‘soccer kick’ automatic power tailgate which is standard in Ford Kuga Titanium models is now available as a $1,200 option on Trend models.
