Alfa Romeo’s updated Giulietta hatchback range has arrived in Australia with extra equipment and some modest price increases – entry-level ‘Progression’ starts at $29,000 and mid-grade ‘Distinctive’ at $33,000.
No detail yet on the hot 173kW QV model which doesn’t arrive ‘downunder’ until next year and the diesel engine option has been deleted.
Styling changes are minor (a new grille and new-design 16-inch alloy wheels) but there have been significant specification improvements.
No changes under the bonnet with Alfa Romeo sticking with the turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine – 88kW/215Nm for the Progression (exclusively a six-speed manual) or 125kW/250Nm for the ‘Distinctive (six-speed manual or six-speed twin-clutch automatic transmission).
Inside you’ll notice an updated infotainment system with a 5.0-inch or six-inch colour screen (the latter with satellite navigation).
There’s also a freshened look with upscale trim materials, new seats and optional leather.
