Toyota has wheeled-out 2014 versions of its top-selling HiAce van and light bus.

And some of the updates reflect the demands of customers (286,250 HiAce vans and buses have been sold in Australia and HiAce has been the market leader of the combined van and light bus segments for more than two decades).

These include a more car-like passenger environment with the adoption of a bucket seat for the front passenger (separated from the driver by a handily-sized centre console box).

On the styling front, the 2014 Toyota HiAce is distinguished by a new front-end featuring a new bumper, new-design headlights with DRLs, larger cool air intakes and adoption of Toyota hallmark trapezoidal grille.

Inside, automatic transmission models score a shift position indicator light in the instrument cluster and an ‘Eco’ driving light to encourage fuel-efficient driving.

Some new exterior colours are also available.

No changes under the bonnet – Toyota HiAce is powered by either a 2.7-litre petrol engine or a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel.

Prices for Toyota HiAce vans remain unchanged and the bus goes up by just $500. The full lineup is:
LWB van $32,990
SLWB van $40,990
Commuter bus $53,490
(For a diesel engine add $4,000 and for an automatic transmission add $2,500).
