Volkswagen’s remarkable Golf BlueMotion has scored its second consecutive Best Green Small Family Car award from Britain’s What Car? magazine.
The 1.6-litre TDI Golf BlueMotion emits just 99g/km of C02 thanks to clever engine design including auto start/stop plus aerodynamic changes, revised gearing, battery regeneration and low rolling resistance tyres. Volkswagen’s dashboard multifunction display also encourages environmentally-friendly driving by suggesting to the driver when to change gears.
“The Volkswagen Golf BlueMotion shows that it is still possible to be green by simply improving the technology that is already proven and available at the moment. The Golf offers a seamless driving experience that is hard to differentiate from a regular diesel Golf. It also has loads of luxury and standard features,” explained What Car? chief Chas Hallett
