Volkswagen Australia have announced the arrival of the audio-focused Polo Beats, a hatch that fuses compact kerb appeal with a slice of aural heaven, at least according to Dre and company interpret the frequencies.
Based on the 85TSI Comfortline variant of the all-new 6th-generation VW Polo, the Beats will therefore feature a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that generates a corresponding 85kW and 200Nm, paired to either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
The emphasis with the $22,490 Polo Beats, though, all lies with the punch of its AV experience relative to other cars in its class. It’s speaker and audio processing array has been specially developed by Beats Audio and pumps out a substantial 300W.
Add to that, Volkswagen offers the car with built-in wireless charging, an 8-inch Discover Media infotainment system with satellite navigation as well as their Active Info Display, a 10.25-inch digital display that take the place of a traditional analogue gauge cluster.
The Polo Beats is available with either the default red or the optional deep pearl black and white/silver metallic exterior finishes. A contrasting stripe on the bonnet sets it apart from the outside, as will the unique Beats badging and black door mirrors, and ’Torsby’ 16-inch alloys.
Inside, the car features even more bespoke badging, unique Matte Velvet Red decorative dash inserts, two-tone upholstery, and Comfort Sport front seats. Additionally, each is equipped with a rear view camera, tyre pressure monitoring, driver fatigue detection, Park Assist, and low speed Autonomous Emergency Braking.
Optionally, buyers can opt for the Driver Assistance Package as would be available to the normal Polo line-up, rounding out the feature set with Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Monitoring.
