Zenvo, that Danish maker of insanely powerful and annoyingly low-volume supercars, has something exciting to show off at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. Come this March, we should see what is technically their third model, following the ST1 and re-rolled TS1.
There’s not much else to go on besides except that the car in question isn’t shy about flaunting its carbon fibre construction. It’s also quite orange. And if this mystery machine is anything like their previous efforts, it should be quite lightweight and extremely powerful.
Given that Zenvo isn’t as established as, say, Koenigsegg, we won’t be surprised to see them essentially offering up an extensively updated version of their original ST1, with some noticeable visual differences to add spice to a design that was first unveiled in 2009. This wouldn’t bother us as that car was scary as heck just to look at.
With the TS1 in 2016, the company poured their efforts into a new powertrain that ditched the ST1’s 6.8-litre twin charged V8 (which may have been prone to excessive heat) for a more advanced 5.9-litre flat-plane V8 with twin superchargers. Power was still bonkers at around 820kW, though, and driven through a motorsports-derived 7-speed sequential transmission.
Zenvo CEO Angela Kashina sounds rather enthused about the reaction to this new car at the Geneva show, stating: “With everything now in place to launch this fantastic new model onto the market it is hard for us to wait patiently for the Geneva International Motor Show to share this car with the world.”
“This is the fifth consecutive occasion that Zenvo has presented itself at the show and we have always been impressed with the phenomenal response from visitors in the know. There can be no better platform to make a splash with our latest new innovation,” she adds.
The company is still planning on keeping their unit numbers in very low numbers, however, and probably will end up matching the original ST1’s final number of just 15 built and sold. Expect the TS1 and this new model’s unit count to barely exceed a dozen each.
