Holden’s luxury sedan is a world beater with looks, style, space, performance and refinement to please even hard-core European car enthusiasts.

Lots of automotive manufacturers talk about benchmarking against this car and that car; let there be no misunderstanding, however you compare it, Holden’s Caprice is a genuine world-class performance sports sedan.

So if you are looking to reward yourself with a four-door sedan offering great performance, strong driving dynamics, extensive standard and optional equipment and also undoubted value-for-money, the Caprice must be considered.

Power comes from either Holden’s 3.6-litre V6 (195kW) engine or the 6.0-litre V8 (270kW). In particular, we would suggest the V8-powered Caprice, driving through the 6-speed automatic transmission, is one of the world’s best sports sedans.

Holden claims the V8 Caprice will travel from zero to 100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds – a time many reputable European sports sedans would struggle to beat.

Stopping, ride and handling are no less impressive. Holden’s acclaimed FE2 suspension has the Caprice tied down nicely and there is a standard Electronic Stability Program that includes anti-lock brakes with electronic brake force distribution and electronic brake assist as well as traction control.

Match that performance with an impressive array of interior features and there’s no doubt this is a car you could happily and easily drive from Sydney to Brisbane or Melbourne to Adelaide.

For starters there is a Bose 10-speaker sound system including sub-woofers, an MP3 compatible 6-disc CD player and even a DVD player with dual screens and two pairs of multi-function headsets for rear seat passengers.

Glorious leather seats feature 10-way electric adjustment for the fronts and the driver’s seat has a 3-setting memory function.

Stereo and climate control information is displayed on a 6.5” multifunction screen also used to display routes etc when the optional satellite navigation is fitted.

Another Caprice feature ideal for long interstate trips is its huge boot (with a thoughtful, adjustable cargo net). For the boys heading off on a golfing vacation, them Caprice will accommodate all the clubs with room to spare.

And even when you’re stuck in the daily commute, the Caprice is quiet and comfortable - a very pleasant place to be.
