CONS

The Mitsubishi Grandis is one of the better value seven-seater vehicles available with a long list of standard equipment. Power is supplied by a lusty 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine which produces 120 kW of power and 216 Nm of torque. The official overall fuel economy figure is 10.2 litres per 100 kilometres.

The VRX variant adds desirable features such as 17-alloy wheels, a sports style grille and roof bars.

The Grandis is a notably versatile people mover. The third row of seats can be individually stowed under the floor. When the car is parked these seats can be reversed. The second row is a bench seat with a 60/40 split. It slides, tips and tilts, and reclines. The three headrests are height adjustable. There is a centre armrest and the backrest angle can be adjusted.

Sales of people movers have been on the decline in recent times and this has encouraged competitive pricing. Launched in 2004, the Grandis received a generous makeover in 2006.

An impressive range of optional equipment and wide range of colours means you can tailor a very individual example of this practical wagon. Seventeen-inch alloy make a good starting point. Dial in purple metallic paint with leather trim and a leather and wood steering wheel and you have a standout Grandis.

    Mitsubishi Grandis range pricing:

  • Mitsubishi Grandis LS Auto $39,990
  • Mitsubishi Grandis VRX Auto $43,000
