In what is a first in Australia for the Mazda MX-5, Mazda has launched the all-new 2015 Mazda MX-5 with a choice of two engines.
Mazda Australia has taken the covers off the more powerful 2.0-litre 2015 Mazda MX-5, just three short months after the releases of the 1.5-litre powered sports car.
The 2.0-litre in-line 4 cylinder petrol (SKYACTIV-G) engine produces 118 kW @ 6,000 rpm and 200 Nm @ 4,600 rpm.
The 2.0-litre Mazda MX-5 is available in either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Unlike the 1.5-litre Mazda MX-5 the automatic transmission in the 2.0-litre version is a joy to drive. However for pure driving enjoyment its hard to go past the 6-speed manual.
The all-new Mazda MX-5 weighs in at only 1,033kg which is only 24 kilograms heavier than the 1.5-litre model.Mazda claim the fuel consumption is only 6.9L/100km for the manual or 7.1L/100km for the 6-speed auto.
