I purchased the car as an ex demo model in 2014, with 5500 km on the clock. As I use it for work, it's done over 175,000 km since I purchased it, so it's certainly proven to be very reliable, with one notable exception.
The car has always had an annoying problem with the electronics. When I park the car and turn it off, it has a habit of 'locking itself off'. An error message indicating that the 'steering column lock' needs to be checked appears on the screen and the car won't start.
After the RACV showed up the first time the car did this, they showed me how to 'reboot' the vehicle by disconnecting the negative terminal from the battery and counting to 30. It's similar to hitting "Cntrl Alt Delete" on your computer when it jams up.
While it's only a minor problem in the scheme of things, I shouldn't have to do this. Each time it happens I take it to the Holden Dealer - but no error is ever found when the diagnostics are done.
Other than that though, the car is dream to drive - especially for shorter folk like myself. And with the price of the CDX model, with all the "fruit", being less than a base model Commodore, it's certainly great value.
