How it drives

I now have 4 children and this car gets us all around with plenty of space, both personal and for luggage. I was unsure of the styling but it has grown on me a little, and the interior is simple but effective. The lack of a centre console between the front seats is surprisingly welcome, and makes a good spot for an Engel or allows walk-through to the rear. About the only interior gripe for large families is the lack of 3rd row anchor points, but this is easily remedied. As for driveability, the car runs nicely but the petrol can struggle with hilly terrain. The overdrive button is a welcome helper there but I sometimes wish I had stretched to the diesel version. Overall the iMax does what I bought it for, without any unnecessary tinsel or fanfare. The diesel was unfortunately a bit rich for our blood at the time but would be a wise investment - the year model you seek will determine whether you have a choice of transmission with the oiler. Pleasing overall.
