After owning Suzuki's for many years it was time to change to something larger for towing purposes. after a year of looking and researching the outcome was the MUX, T variant. The vehicle is not the Suzuki inside with the finishes and the options a bit plastic and old fashioned. The rise and handling especially the towing ability is excellent.
On the road yes it does sound like a diesel especially at low town speeds, but that what we purchased and all diesel make more noise than a petrol engine, so do not expect to sneak into the garage late at night. Maybe some more sound proofing in the cabin could make a difference, but then the price would rise, the price for the vehicle is the variable here for another $20k or so yes one would hope for less noise more gadgets, the MUX cannot be overlooked for the price and the delivery of fuel economy and towing ability.
Overall could not be more happy with the value and steely purpose of the vehicle we needed for the next 10 or so years, I expect that a lot of Australia will be seeing this MUX and of cause its two grey nomad occupants .

It does it all for me. Really handles off-road slippery hills well. Motoring writers are full of bull when they say it is slow or bad on corners. Drive at less than double the advertised speed and it corners without any bad manners. Crucially, there is NO turbo lag as there was in my 2011 Territory diesel AWD, as appears to be a problem with many modern diesels. I can hear the motor when accelerating but it is not an annoying sound. The most annoying noise in a car for me is road/tyre noise and this is minimal in my MU-X. Writers say the Territory is quiet but once again this is rubbish and refers to direct engine noise and not road/tyre noise which is bad in the Territory. It may be as strong as a truck but it is a very pleasant car to drive. It accelerates fine and is easy to keep within the speed limits whereas other cars seem to be designed to do their best at speeds above the limits.
