I've had the Sorento MY11 Platinum for 12 months now and every day I know I've made the best choice out of the range of mid size SUV's. I researched resale prices (used car values), read reviews, test drove the Tiguan, Kluger, Freelander, Forrester, RAV4, Outlander, Captiva (and probably a couple of others that have slipped my mind) and found that the Sorento was a complete package. The power and torque in the diesel is second to none and you can always depend on a quick getaway. We've towed a 15' caravan up to the Sunshine Coast sitting on 100kms per hour and achieving 12 litres per 100kms fuel economy. Mostly around the 'burbs I get 7.9 l/100kms and on the highway it drops significantly and I've seen consumptions as good as 6.9 l/100kms. You just watch the consumption reading fall! The vehicle is stylish and unique and really stands out in the general run-of -the- mill vehicles in traffic. The rear parking sensors and camera are an added bonus (great for reversing in shopping centres). I get many comments from people on how nice it looks. In closing I just want to say that my husband didn't want anything to do with Kia (a Korean made vehicle) but after I read the reviews he finally relented and came for a test drive with me. He was so impressed that he/we decided then and there that it was the vehicle for us and haven't looked back. I love my Sorento and hope to have it for many years to come.
