I have a MY13 Korando 2WD 2.00l S. For a driveaway price of $21,990 the Korando is a robust and comfortable vehicle with class leading space.
Yes, you may not get a 7 inch interactive screen, and you may find the plastics a bit hard, but what you do get for the price is a vehicle with most of the mod-cons, most of the safety features, a vehicle with plenty of room, both front and back and a large boot with a full size spare wheel and 5 years roadside assistance. The height of the vehicle is brilliant, you can just slide in and out at the hip.
Fuel economy is very good for the weight of plus 1,500kg. Around town is around 8.2 to the litre and the country cycle, I have attained 6.8 to the litre with steady driving, probably achieved with the 6 speed gears - remember, the Korando had this long before many of the other competitors. Turning the wheel is a bit heavy, but I prefer this anyway. To-date, I have found servicing cost reasonable and fuel economy good.
Put simply, if you want an entry level SUV, the Korando outshines most in the lower end price bracket in terms of size and value. Why pay up to $8,000 more.

this is the third ssangyong we have brought, 2005 rexton,2010 Actyon sports ute ,the ute is brillant towed our 2000kg van with ease giving us a fuel cusumption of 13litres per hundred kms compare that with the pajero we sold around 17/18 litres per 100kms The rexton was a loverly tank to drive a bit thirsty for a diesel We sold the rexton for the 2013 korando, its brillant can not fault it ours is auto with pleanty of pickup, good ride excellant fuel cusumption overall we would recomend both the Actyon and the Korando

We took delivery of our Korando at the end of September 2012. We love it! It is simply fantastic value for the money....it has all the bells and whistles... 6 airbags, all wheel drive, turbo diesel ,alloy wheels, dual exhaust, climate control, blue tooth and all the other extras... too many to name here (no Satnav... but we have a navman so it doesn't matter). We had tinting done to the windows and a nudge bar and side steps fitted. Its black, It just looks beautiful, runs quietly, it turns heads and drives like a dream....it is as smooth as silk on the freeway....we are very happy.
By the way...we traded our BMW in on the Korando.
