Sharper looks confirmed, but what else?
Japanese carmaker Mitsubishi has begun their teaser campaign around the facelifted Mitsubishi Triton, which will bring the rather accomplished ute in-line with the rest of the Mitsubishi range design-wise. A Dynamic Shield face is guaranteed, drawing heavily from the Pajero Sport off-roader with which it shares a frame.
The rear is also set to receive a Pajero Sport-inspired change too, with spy shots carried by our favourite spy photographer Ferd showing the rear-end of the new Triton sporting ‘water-drop’ taillights, much like what’s been seen on the SUV.
When the new Triton arrives, we expect it to sport a revised cabin, improved technology (especially where the infotainment system is concerned), and even some mild powertrain changes. It’s said that the upgraded Triton stands to benefit from the new cooperations as part of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, and it is perhaps from that Alliance that the new Triton will gain its smarts.
The new 2019 Mitsubishi Triton will debut on November 9th, where we expect to glean more details. We’ve also been promised that the new Triton will be on our shores by year-end, suggesting that order books for the refreshed ute should be opening soon. Would you pick one of these over a Ford Ranger or a Toyota Hilux? Let us know in the comments section below.
